What You Need To Know About Bottled Water

in Drinking Water

The bottled water industry has come under fire lately for some of its less than scrupulous tactics. Many people buy bottled water because they are uncertain of what their tap water contains. Is bottled water better than tap water?

That is the issue at hand as scientists are urging more people to skip the bottle of overpriced water and go with tap water. Their arguments seem sound, but you should have the facts before automatically thinking that bottled water is safe water and free from impurities. Let’s review some of the more popular reasons for buying bottled water.

You do not have to settle for plain bottled water anymore. The bottled water industry has produced vitamin enhanced water that provides you with all the vitamins you need during the day. They come in a variety of flavors and most have zero calories though you still have to watch for other additives. It certainly beats taking a giant multivitamin during the day. You may be getting more than you realized in your bottle of water.

Recently, it came to light that a bottled water company located in this country and other places was simply using tap water. This led to the spark of contention on whether or not bottled water was the right choice.

It causes a landfill problem with the sheer amounts of plastic being thrown away and in reality, it is no better or worse than the water straight from your tap. People still buy it but at least they know the facts now.

The bottled water industry is here to stay. People living in cities do not want to take the chance with their source water. They also do not want to drink the water found in many different countries where the water quality is not regulated. Do you blame them? The last thing they want is to get dysentery while on vacation in some foreign country.

But give tap water or well water a chance when you are at home. You will save money and you can always add in your own flavors. You will know that you are helping the environment.
